Can Bowen Help Me?

Bowen can help every body find balance. Sometimes it's obvious when the problem occurred, such as with a sporting injury or digging the garden - you know exactly when and where it happened and sometimes these problems just creep up on you due to bad posture, age or lifestyle issues.

It is important to remember that Bowen treats the person rather than a specific condition, but as a guideline the following list is a good example of the types of conditions that have responded to Bowen.

...tennis elbow, tendon and ligament damage, hamstring injury, shin splints, shoulder and back injury. Bowen also maintains general body balance and function, and has been used successfully in sports clubs to improve overall performance. A Bowen therapist travelled to the recent Olympics in Beijing and helped several athletes during the games.

... Arthritis, stiffness in the back and neck, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, knee problems, pelvic misalignment, jaw problems (tightness, pain, teeth clenching or grinding), sciatica, degenerative discs, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve syndrome.

...Back injuries, whiplash, misaligned vertebrae, problems that begin after the accident such as migraines. Sprained or turned ankles.

...Tension through back and neck, sciatica, repetitive strain injury (can present in the form of tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, frozen shoulder) irritable bowel syndrome, poor digestion, depression, stress, migraines and headaches, chronic fatigue, hay fever and bronchial symptoms, general relaxation and body balancing.

The Bowen Technique has been used successfully as part of a management programme for the following conditions;

...ME, MS, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, Ankylosing spondylitis, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, scoliosis. Bowen has been shown to help with a very wide range of diagnosed conditions - it certainly doesn't claim to be the miracle cure, but can help greatly with pain management and relaxation.

 ...Infant colic, re-alignment after birth, unexplained infant crying, asthma, eczema, bedwetting, sleep disorders, glue ear, anxiety, hyperactivity, scoliosis.

This is by no means an exclusive list.
